At Lockertek, we are proud to be different. We don't sell lockers; we sell solutions, each of which is directly tailored to our customers needs and not for our own convenience. This page demonstrates a few of our recent projects and the flexibility we offer.
South Bromsgrove school
It's a fact that replacing school lockers can be an expensive excersise. In times of austerity it makes it harder for schools to fund large projects like this. South Bromsgrove High School asked us to look at all the options from repair, to replacing all of the lockers in the school.
Other locker companies were telling our customer that only replacement was a viable option but on inspection of the site, we realised that the frames (carcass's) were in fact in good condition and that only the doors and ends were badly damaged.
The lockers themselves were only a few years old and replacing them with steel doors might not be the best plan considering the damage they had sustained. We proposed that inset laminate doors and laminate end panels would be a good long term solution. This work saved the customer thousands of pounds against buying new lockers and the end result looked both great and will last for years to come.

Locker repairs School lockers
Before: Missing doors, broken locks, carcass damage.
Most people might consider buying new lockers at this stage.
After: All doors replaced with super strong laminate doors, end panels fitted to all sides, and all locks replaced.
The Jumeriah Carlton Tower Hotel (Knightsbridge)
We were delighted when the Jumeriah Carlton Tower contacted us on recommendation from one of our other hotel customers. The brief was simple, they wanted to fit lots of staff lockers into a large but difficult space whilst extending the five star experience of the hotel to staff in the back of house areas.
Our first task was to measure the space and assess the best layout for the new lockers in terms of functionality and acheiving the numbers required. We then provided the customer with colour charts, material samples and lock samples. The customer decided to go for our Varsity range of solid grade laminate lockers which incorporate an extremely tough SGL door fixed onto a standard steel frame (carcass). These lockers are great because they look expensive but are surprisingly good value. The schedule for this project was extremely tight and we would often find ourselves working with up to seven other trades in the same room. The end result was stunning and now the staff have changing rooms to match the most upmarket gyms.

Work in progress - The schedule was tight and often we would be installing the lockers with up to seven other trades in the same room.
Oakgrove School Milton Keynes
The locker areas at the smart and modern Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes are located in under cover shelters around the school. These areas, although mainly dry, do suffer from the usual moisture effects associated with metal lockers stored outside and as such the lockers have suffered from extensive surface oxidisation (rusting).
The customer contacted us asking if we could could smarten these lockers up without the waste and expense of buying new lockers for the entire school.
Our suggestion was to clean the doors using a chemical wash and to re-powder coat the lockers to both smarten them up and to slow the spread of rust.
Our first task was to send a few locker doors away to be test coated. The results were surprisingly good and even the worst doors came back looking much smarter.
We then had the mammoth task of removing all eight hundred locker doors and locker locks before sending them to our paint plant.
A week later all the doors were returned, re-fitted and the locks re-installed and tested.
This is probably the first time this has even been attempted in the UK on this scale and on lockers that most other locker companies would have written off as beyond repair.
Lockertek MD Ashley Morrison commented "Just because a project isn't simple, it doesn't mean it can't be done".
Minster In Sheppey Primary School
When Minster in Sheppey Primary School in Kent contacted us looking for something completely out of the ordinary, we jumped at the chance to get creative.
The customers brief was simple; to create various useable storage areas that looked less like locker rooms and more like a smart colourful feature.
For the younger children's area we used a standard 1275mm low level locker with randomly selected door colours. To make the area more interesting, we arranged the lockers into different run shapes and worked with the headteacher to place the school lockers in such a way to assist the flow of foot traffic to each classroom.
For the older year groups we really had to think outside the box. They needed bigger compartments but they wanted a funky stylish environment with bold shapes and colours.
We decided that cube modular lockers were the answer. These can be bolted together in any shape and style the user wants, and offer much more flexibility than standard lockers.
The last thing a primary school needs is lockable lockers so we incorporated an easy to use hasp and staple lock which can be used as a handle to keep the locker shut when not being used.
This is a project we are especially proud of and one that highlights our attention to detail as well as our knowledge of the locker market.
