Thameside Primary School, located in the heart of Caversham, Reading, is a vibrant and inclusive community school nurturing every child’s potential. Guided by creativity, care, and collaboration, the school creates a welcoming environment that encourages pupils to explore, learn, and thrive. By celebrating individuality and diversity, Thameside works closely with families to support each child academically, socially, and emotionally.
To meet their growing storage needs, Thameside Primary School ordered 26 lockers, providing a total of 156 compartments. Each locker measured 1780mm high x 305mm wide x 460mm deep, providing a practical solution that fitted neatly into the school’s space.
The lockers combined lemon and jade doors with sleek silver frames, creating a modern, vibrant look that brightened the corridors. For security, the school selected hasp locks, allowing pupils to use their own padlocks for independence and convenience. To improve safety and hygiene, sloping tops were added to prevent items being left on top of the lockers, while nesting nuts and bolts ensured the lockers could be securely grouped together.
To save on costs, the school decided to complete the installation themselves. We delivered the lockers ahead of the summer holidays, giving staff ample time to set them up before pupils returned. This practical approach ensured that everything was ready for the new academic year, while still meeting budget requirements.
This project shows how simple, well-designed locker solutions enhance daily school life by giving pupils secure, functional, and visually appealing storage.
